Slough away your dull and dry skin with a gentle chemical peel. Greenwich Point Dermatology is where medical dermatology, advanced surgical techniques, and cutting-edge cosmetic dermatology treatments meet to create a lifetime of healthy, beautiful skin. Our team of Board Certified Dermatologists are proud to offer chemical peels to patients in Greenwich, Stamford, and the neighboring communities in Fairfield County.
What are Chemical Peels?
A chemical peel is a minimally invasive cosmetic treatment that helps to exfoliate away the uppermost layers of skin to reveal the bright and glowing complexion underneath. Not only does a chemical peel help to refresh your dull skin, but our medical team may also recommend a chemical peel to:
- Address fine lines and wrinkles around the face
- Reduce hyperpigmentation
- Treat acne and acne scarring
- Minimize enlarged pores
- Resurface the skin
We are happy to offer our patients a range of chemical peels from the VI Peel treatment line, from light chemical peels to deep chemical peels. We encourage you to come in and see our team of Board Certified Dermatologists determine which chemical peel treatment is right for you and your skin.
What Can I Expect During my Chemical Peel?
Your chemical peel will be performed in our state-of-the-art medical facility by Dr. Sarah Dolder or one of our other expert medical professionals. Before your chemical peel begins, your skin will be gently cleansed using and a mild topical anesthetic will be applied to your treatment area to minimize any discomfort you may experience during your treatment. Once you are numb and fully relaxed, Dr. Dolder or our medical professional will apply a chemical solution to your skin. This solution will be allowed to sit on the skin for 15 to 20 minutes before being wiped away and replaced with a neutralizing solution to stop the chemical exfoliation process. The entire chemical peel treatment typically takes less than an hour to complete.
What Results Can I Expect from my Chemical Peel?
The magic of the chemical peel takes place following your appointment with us. Your skin may be red and sensitive, similar to the feeling of a sunburn, for the first one to three days following your chemical peel. This is normal and generally resolves on its own. The “peel” portion of your chemical peel will take place within three to 10 days after your appointment with us. Once all your treated skin has sloughed away, you will be left with a bright, fresh face.
How Much Do Chemical Peels Cost?
The cost of chemical peels at Greenwich Point Dermatology will vary depending on the type of peel you receive.
