Volume Enhancement / Fillers

As we age, we lose natural volume and elasticity in our face, chest, and hands as collagen production diminishes and our subcutaneous fat stores disperse. Fortunately, the latest injectable fillers deliver natural lifting and plumping results without the need for surgery. At Greenwich Point Dermatology, Dr. Sarah Dolder is proud to offer the latest formulations of fillers for the longest-lasting and most aesthetically fresh results.

Highly skilled in injection placement, Dr. Dolder customizes her selection of formulations for each patient depending on their needs and desires. Her conservative and artistic approach respects the natural aging process while achieving the best possible contours.

About Fillers

Dermal fillers are often made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally found sugar that holds over 100 times its weight in water or calcium hydroxylapatite, which helps promote the growth of new collagen. When injected into the skin, fillers add volume, plump the lips, improve cheek contours, reduce lines near your nose and mouth, smooth chin creases, and improve overall facial symmetry.

There are several types of fillers, each with slightly different properties that make them suitable for different areas of the body, depending on the goals desired.

Common areas for filler placement include:

  • Cheeks
  • Eye creases
  • Hands
  • Lips
  • Marionette lines around the mouth
  • Deep wrinkles
  • Scars

Greenwich Point Dermatology offers the following fillers:

  • BeloteroBalance®
  • Juvederm® Volbella™ XC, Voluma™ XC, Vollure™XC
  • Radiesse®
  • Restylane®, Restylane® Lyft™, Restylane® Defyne™, Restylane®Silk™

During your consultation with Dr. Dolder, she can advise you on which fillers would be best suited for your overall skin goals and discuss their properties.

Filler Treatment

From assessment through injection, appointments should last about 30-45 minutes. We use a topical anesthetic to minimize any discomfort.

Filler Results

Filler results are immediate and improve over the next week or two. Results can last up to 1 year, although some patients prefer minor tweaks throughout the year. Over time, your body will naturally reabsorb the filler and the skin will return to its baseline.

Filler Side Effects & Recovery

After your injections, it is common to experience temporary and minor tenderness, swelling, and bruising. This usually subside after a week. To reduce swelling, apply and ice pack 3-4 times daily after treatment.

It is best to avoid sleeping on your face as well as facials and fim massages until a week after treatment to ensure that the filler can integrate into the skin for optimal results.
