What is Dysport®?
Dysport® is a minimally invasive cosmetic treatment that smooths away fine lines and wrinkles around the forehead, eyes, and brows. Dysport® works in a very similar way as Botox® and Xeomin® in that it temporarily relaxes the muscles in the treated areas that are causing fine lines and deep wrinkles to appear on the surface of the skin. Also known as a neuromodulator, Dysport® is the perfect treatment for patients who wish to treat:
- Fine lines and deep wrinkles along the forehead
- Frown lines or 11’s between the eyebrows
- Crow’s feet around the outer eyes
- Bunny lines along the bridge of the nose
What Can I Expect During my Dysport® Treatment?
Each of your Dysport® treatments will be performed in our beautiful medical facility by Dr. Sarah Dolder or one of our other expert staff members. Before your Dysport® treatment begins, a topical anesthetic may be applied to the treatment area. Once you are numb and relaxed, a series of Dysport® injections will be carefully and strategically made to your treatment area, typically around the upper third of the face. The entire treatment process generally takes less than an hour to complete.
What Results Can I Expect from Dysport®?
Because Dysport® is a minimally invasive cosmetic treatment, there is no downtime or recovery period needed. Most patients are able to return to their normal daily activities, including work, immediately following their Dysport® treatment. Because it takes some time for the active ingredient in Dysport® to smooth away fine lines and wrinkles in the skin, patients may not see their desired results until three to seven days following their appointment. While Dysport® may last up to four to six months, Dr. Dolder and her team typically recommend regular quarterly treatments to maintain desired results.
