MicroLaser Peel and Profractional Laser: Complete Skin Rejuvenation
MicroLaser Peel provides skin resurfacing at it’s finest, and is an excellent treatment for deep wrinkles, photodamage, keratoses, scars, and overall poor skin tone and texture. This laser removes the outermost layers of the skin at precise depths that can be tailored to the patient’s desired outcome, skin type and acceptable downtime. The depth of penetration is carefully controlled with micron precision, and can be used safely around the eyes and lips for total rejuvenation.
Profractional Therapy is a laser procedure used to improve the overall appearance of the skin and stimulate collagen and elastin production. The procedure utilizes a non-ablative laser to apply thousands of pinpoint laser beams into the treated area. Because only a fraction of the skin is directly treated, the surrounding untreated skin promotes rapid healing and regeneration. As the wound-healing response occurs and the skin heals, collagen and elastin production is stimulated, which improves the thickness and resilience of the skin. The result is a younger and rejuvenated appearance.
A MicroLaser Peel combined with Profractional Therapy will:
- Improve fine lines and wrinkles
- Brighten skin tone
- Improve skin texture
- Reduce the appearance of scars
- Remove keratoses
- Reduce the aging process of the skin
Our team of Board-certified dermatologists are highly trained in resurfacing lasers and have the ability to customize your treatment to offer enhanced results.
FAQ
What type of skin damage does the MicroLaser Peel and Profractional Therapy treat?
- fine lines and wrinkles
- acne and traumatic scars
- skin laxity
- keratoses
- dyspigmentation
What should I expect during the treatment?
Your skin will be cleaned in the treatment area and your eyes will be protected with safety shields. The physician will position the laser handpiece above the skin and will hold it in place as the computer-guided scanner moves the laser beam around the treatment area. Depending on the size of the area being treated, and the depth of the treatment, the procedure usually lasts 15 to 45 minutes.
One of the primary advantages of Micro Laser Peel is that it causes little pain because it does not penetrate very deep into the skin. At its most shallow settings, most people can tolerate treatment with no anesthetic at all. At deeper settings, a topical numbing cream is typically used.
What is the downtime?
You will experience 2-10 days of redness and peeling with this procedure, depending on the depth of penetration and desired outcome.
What’s the difference between MicroLaser Peel and HALO™?
The MicroLaser Peel treats the entire outermost layer of skin, while HALO treats both the surface and deeper layers of the skin, using Profractional therapy.
How long will it take to see results?
Because only the outer layer of skin is treated, most patients notice an obvious improvement in tone, texture and color evenness once the skin heals in approximately 2-10 days.
